Qualified Recycling Program
|
| Program Overview |
The Qualified Recycling Program (QRP), as operated by the G-4 Installation and Logistics Department, is located at 6310. QRP mission is to divert recyclable materials from the non-hazardous solid waste (SW) landfill diversion in accordance with USMC recycling goals. At a minimum the QRP will ensure scrap metal, high-grade paper, cardboard, and aluminum cans are separate and segregated from the SW and recycled. Glass, plastic, newspaper, scrap wood, and other wastes shall also be targeted as the market demands. Recyclable materials that are not profitable for the QRP should be included handled through SW if economically feasible to maximize recycling. Station activities and tenant commands shall participate in the recycling program as outlined in the Station Order. The EMD Waste Management Division monitors the program, provides technical expertise, and submits recycling data to federal, state, DoN, and USMC agencies and departments as may be required. |
